When I began to think about ideas for Taylor’s first birthday, all I wanted to do was a tie a few balloons to her high chair and bake a yummy cake. I know she wouldn’t won’t remember it so it seemed like a smart idea.Well, that didn’t really happen. I started to think about how much she loves the flowers we see on our walks, so maybe I’ll add a few of those….oh, but maybe if I just did a few flower-shaped foods that would…and a spring time themed cake would look so cute…

Yes, I might have taken a little detour from my original plan!

The good part about that detour is now I get to share the pictures and ideas with all of you!

**Most of these ideas don’t need step-by-step direction, but if you would like them feel free to leave a comment below and I’ll fill you in!

For drinks, I bought mason jars and tied colorful ribbon around them,

which made it easy for guests to dephicer which was theirs!

Also, two cute watering cans filled with delicious pink lemonade and water.

For the food, I bought two planters, lined them with napkins, and filled them with chips and crackers.

I also made fruit wands and a veggie plate (you can cut the bell peppers into flower shapes, so cute!).

My favorite part of the food decor had to be the quesadillas; wheat tortillas and mozerella cheese, cut with cookie cutters to make the shapes of flowers!

Ah, my favorite part (and most time-consuming, haha)!

For the “vases”: I painted wine bottles, painted/ hot glued wooden letters, and topped it off with ribbons and flowers!

I printed out a picture from each month of Taylor’s first year and attached them to butterflies

and flowers made out of construction paper.

A yummy “worms in dirt” cake for dessert!

*Our living room was also filled the room with spring-colored balloons, which Taylor was a huge fan of :) *

Simple ideas, really fun party!

What an awesome party! I had never thought of putting the drinks in watering cans, what a clever idea! And the ribbons on the mason jars are not only cute but serve a purpose. I can’t tell you how many times I have been to a party and forgotten which cup was mine so I simply started over, I will be keeping this in mind for our next party. Thank you for sharing the awesome ideas and the pictures. Happy birthday to your little one year old!!
