Taylor and I met up with our good friends Lottie and Minette and walked over to one of Eugene’s best bakeries, The Sweet Life. Now most of the time, I like to eat healthy…but every once in a while you need to be able to treat yourself! Especially at Sweet Life where they have rows upon rows of delicious treats (not to mention, mouth-watering chocolate ganache cakes!). The one that really caught my eye was their beautiful looking chocolate croissants. Ever since I downed one of their croissants, I’ve been craving another. Of course, being the budget conscience mom that I am, I’m not able to pop over to Sweet Life as often as I’d like (everyday would be great!). Remembering back to my childhood, my mom and I loved to eat one as a special morning treat. I learned a quick recipe for them at a summer school class in elementary school, so while these aren’t as delicious as Sweet Life’s, they help me between fixes
Below is the recipe:
1) I started with Trader Joe’s crescent rolls and a handful of Hershey’s Kisses (not the best chocolate, but it’ll do for now)
You can also use nutella/jams/nuts/anything for the middle
2) Lay out the triangles on a greased cookie sheet.
And you’re done! You can also dress up the ending product with chocolate drizzle/almond slices/etc.
I would have a picture of my final product….but I may have burnt them, oops…
